Testech is the first in the Philippines to operate using Auto-Visual Inspection (AVI) process for substrate inspection. The state-of-the-art inspection equipment under its world class cleanroom facility makes Testech the leading substrate inspection house in the country.
Testech registered in the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) in October 2000 and commenced its inspection operations on the same year. At the onset, Testech inspected leadframes and substrates at its own facility located in the Light Industry and Science Park 1 in Cabuyao, Laguna. In two years, its clients recognized Testech as a source of skilled inspectors and granted it the Customer Certified Inspectors (CCI) status, thereby allowing Testech inspected materials to go straight to production, eliminating the normal IQA (incoming quality acceptance) process. In November 2002, a change in ownership of Testech took place.
By January 2003, after completing its reorganization, Testech focused on strengthening its core competency by sending its people to train in the United States for certification of Flip Chip substrate process and inspection in April. A leading Korean substrate manufacturer also vested Testech certification for System in Package (SIP), Plastic Ball Grid Array (PBGA) and CSP substrate process and inspection after undergoing training in Korea. Testech ventured into unit inspection for MLF packages in August prior to the provision of Off-Shore Inspection Services to Korea in September. By October 2003, the new management obtained ISO certification, enabling Testech to be at par with international standards.
In May 2004, Testech relocated to its new facility in CPIP, Batino. The following month, Testech started assembly unit inspection of SIP, TSSOP, SOIC, FC and offered support services in IQA operations. In January 2005, it began inspecting Disk Drive Base Plates and also provided test operation support and PCB inspection.
In 2007, Testech intensified its inspection capability by putting up a state-of-the-art facility for substrate inspection using Auto Visual Inspection machine, Verification machines, Laser Marking machine, Rinsing machine using air-knife technology, and the latest packaging equipment. In this same year, Testech expanded its inspection services for Felxible Printed Circuits and electronic metal parts. Testech also provides other non-inspection services such as substrate assembly, manual testing, raw materials reworks, and labor intensive sub-assemblies.
It also acquired the Asian operations of Device Dynamics, Incorporated and renamed it to Device Dynamics Asia (DDA). DDA is a provider of packaging and other finishing solutions such as Tape and Reel, Tube Recycling, Dry Bake and Dry Pack, Skilled Manpower Services/Solutions and Engineering & Technical Support Services . DDA has operations in the Philippines and Malaysia.
In June 2011, Testech started Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) Capability.
Today, the Testech Group, with its over 7,000 workforce in 2 countries, provides a full suite of backend solutions to the Semiconductor and Electronics Industry.
